'Flawless' Saturday

Biking..

Last long weekend holiday (for me), I went to my hometown, Tasikmalaya. On Saturday, schools in this town had to be 'filled' again by students. So, on Saturday morning, there were only me and my sister staying at home. Remembering the drum sticks (which probably will be needed one day), I went to my best friend's house to take those sticks. I went there by my sister's bike. My 'real' bike had not been yet mended. I still had to wait for Dad to gain his good mood to care fixing my bike. Anyway, my sister's bike was enough to cheer my Saturday morning.

Eka's House and The Favorable Lotek

A house which formerly could always make me enthusiastic to study is my best friend's house, Eka. The last daughter of Alm. Bapak Mustofa. After a long time since the last time I've been there, finally I could step my feet there once more. There were not many changed things. The fences were still the same. The same yellow floor, the same flowery wallpaper, the same bedrooms, the same cupboard, the same couch, the same inn, the same bathroom, the same dining room. Things that change are the position of the furniture, and ... the absence of Bapa Mustofa who had just passed away in the early year. I and Eka talked about many things. She let me read the old magazines she put under the table in the living room, she let me watched MTV, she let me eat lotek made by her mom. Yum! She still remembers my favorite food! And I went back home with the bike. I saw Eka stood and laughed at me from the fences because I  was a little bit scared to bike in front of her house which is a highway.

Dad's Time

My energy is always full whenever I'm home. I'd been back from Eka's house at 3 p.m.

"Look, who's just come.." said my Mom a moment after I parked the bike. "Other people will take motorbikes or cars to their friends' house." continued her.
"And She takes a bike," added my elder sister.
They laughed afterwards.
"No matter. It's cool. Classic.." said my Dad.
I just put a smile on my face.

Actually, I had an 'appointment' with my sister to go somewhere. But an 'incident' happened. She was angry. And I couldn't go with her.
Then, I sat in the living room. Alone. It's painted green. With a wide window facing to the west. The most favorite spot in my home. I stared across the window. Seeing the yard. Quiet afternoon.
"Eby." It must be Dad. "Do you still want to go?" asked him.
"Ya.. But she.."
"Let me accompany you! Come on!"

Finally I went with my Dad till the night. It was raining. The heavy rain had drenched us to the skin. But I was joyful. Thank you Daddyyyy. You had saved my Saturday night.
